Not a lot is learnt about Nissan’s next Z-car. Early in December of 2014, Nissan’s vice president and international head of marketing, Roel de Vries, hinted that the 370 Z’s successor could have a range of engines, depending upon a provided market. Then, a week later on, word spread that the next Z-Car would be launched as a convertible (they were calling it “The Z”) and would most likely have a 2.0-liter, turbocharged, hybrid engine. We’re hoping to see the official launching of the next Z by 2018, however till then let’s take a look at our rendering and exactly what we wish to see when it makes a main launching in the coming years.
As you can see, we believe the 2018 Nissan Z will be low slung, and similar to the 370Z, just smaller sized. Up front, you’ll acknowledge a grille just like what we see on the 2016 Nissan Sentra, however for the Z, we’ve expanded on it a bit. Rather of a thin, flat-V-shaped divider, the grille embraces a wider divider with are vents on the sides and a big Nissan emblem right in the middle. The headlights are also of a comparable style, but the outer points– the ones that point toward the side mirrors– those are longer and more pronounced, giving the car a sportier set of eyes compared with the Sentra.
I think Nissan is expecting a lot out of its next Z-car, so I believe the interior will be similar to the 2014 to 2015 370z Nismo, but a little much better. The infotainment screen display will be of the touchscreen type, with many infotainment functions done on screen– leaving no requirement for the control panel below the screen on the 370Z. I presume we’ll see the very same Z-branded wheel, but it will be enhanced by a sleeker design and, by the time it is released, it might even consist of some touchscreen controls itself. I think the seats will also be a combination of leather and Alcantara, however keep in mind that is only early-on speculation. As far as we understand, the next Z-car is stated to slot before the 370 and 350zs, so it will most likely come at a lower rate– ultimately causing a less luxurious cabin.
It should be noted, the 2018 Nissan Z will be smaller and lighter, that V-6 could be toned down a lot more and still provide 0-to-60 miles per hour times in the 5- to six-second variety. Naturally, Nissan might develop a whole new V-6 for the next Z-car and if that is the case, who knows exactly what we’ll see under the hood. Either way, I do not think the brand name will let us down with the decision they make. We just have to wait until the time pertains to see what they develop.
The brand-new Z is expected to land in showrooms by 2018, with the base model priced in the low-$30,000 variety and the twin-turbo nearing $50K.
